Steve Perry/Ultimate Media Collection Tedeschi Trucks "Free A Man"After being a member of the band Alien Project, Steve Perry joined Journey as a vocalist after passing a demo tape audition in 1977. He contributed to the group through singing and writing, and left Journey in 1998 to go solo. His solo record debut was in 1982 while still in the group.
